About 8 years ago I developed an obsession with thigh high boots. I wanted a black leather or suede pair and was on the hunt for one that would fit my college budget. I couldn’t afford the ones my heart desired but found an animal print patent leather pair by Baby Phat. They were definitely a statement piece, very edgy but a little too sexy for my taste so I stored them away in my closet for years.

I wore them twice since then ~ until this fall. I’ve developed a renewed love for these boots and my favorite thing about them is the bit of sexy they add to my outfit. How ironic?

I paired them with an oversized red H&M sweater - another big fall trend - layered over a classic white boyfriend button down shirt from Joe Fresh and Poof! black leggings. The Gucci Soho Disco is a great compact size, everyday essential bag, that works well paired with both casual and dressy looks. My Tom Ford optical glasses gave the outfit the perfect balance of smart and sexy. (Click pics to enlarge)

These Baby Phat boots are practically vintage at this point, but I found 2 used pairs, a Tradesy splurge at $140 and an Ebay steal at $28, sizes 8 and 8.5 respectively.
