POSHEstyle: NYFW Day6 - Plaid Culotte Jumpsuit

It was my final day at MBFW and honestly I could not have been happier. Fashion Week is my favorite time of the year. I plan months in advance for the season. It's exciting and fun, but it's also exhausting and at this point I was wiped.

I saved, what's the hottest trend this Spring and sure to follow through to Fall - as seen on the runways - for my closing piece. This plaid culotte jumpsuit - an original design from my LAPOSHE brand.

Next to the LAPOSHE maxi coat I wore on day 4, this was my favorite look for the week. I love a classic black and white combination and this plaid print added dimension and interest. The vertical lines elongate the frame and the boned bodice gives support.

I layered the jumpsuit over a crisp white ASOS button-down shirt, giving it a super chic and tailored element. The coverage also made it more sophisticated and professional. This culotte look can easily transition into corporate style for the office. A silk Chanel coat and black stockings added more layers for warmth and comfort. A vintage leather belt, which defined the waistline, and my Christian Louboutin white python pumps were the perfect pairing. My Chanel Le Boy Bag, Bulova watch and vintage brooch, had subtle accents of gold that popped against the black and white. POSHEstyle: NYFW Day5 - Rose Gold + Nike Sneakers

I've lived the majority of my adult life at least 4 inches above ground but 2014 gave me a new perspective on ground level when I transitioned sneakers from workout gear to casual style.

"Fashion sneakers" have been a major style trend over the past few seasons and I even featured the look as a fashion editor in my watch-list last Spring, but my obsession with heels prolonged the inclusion into my personal style. However, by day 5 and with a schedule from 10 am to 9pm, my feet were in need of some serious TLC and these Nike sneakers came to the rescue.

What I love most about these sneakers, is how the neutral tones of gray, black and white, contrast with the pop of pink. They are not only chic and comfortable, but contrary to my position years back, also stylish and fashion-forward.

Now to the outfit! I've had this rose gold jeans from BCBG for a few months now, but didn't have the right complement nor occasion to wear it. I found this faux leather rose gold cropped top at Forever21 right before my Jamaican vacation, and thought this was it but didn't get the urge to wear the outfit until Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Though the smallest size in the top was still big, I decided to buy it anyways and have it altered. I always advise my clients to do the same when they're having difficulties finding the right fit due to their body structure.

Not only am I conscious when it comes to baring skin in a cropped topped, but I was also dressing for winter so I layered the rose gold set with a classic white boyfriend shirt from Joe Fresh. I layered that with a camel boyfriend jacket from Forever21 and accessorized the look with my Chanel Le Boy, Bulova watch and American Eagle aviators, keeping the jewelry very minimal given the overall metallics. Initially, I had planned to pair the look with my Christian Louboutin white python pigalle heels but my feet had different ideas and I conceded. I did however switch into them for the final shows that evening, ending in true poshestyle.

POSHEstyle: NYFW Day4 - Grey Maxi Coat

I have an absolute fascination with anything "maxi" - dress, skirt, pants - and ultimately, coats!

This day was one of the most frigid for fashion week, and with my schedule running from Vivienne Hu at 10am to FTL MODA at 7pm, I had to prepare for what was going to be a very long and cold day. It was also the premiere weekend for the movie, "50 Shades of Grey", so with all things considered I decided to go with a long maxi coat I had designed, which coincidentally, has different shades of grey.

Grey was a major color for Fall/Winter 2014, but what was distinct about this fabric to me is the plaid print, which was also a hit trend for the season. I love how the one piece merged different "on-trend" elements together - shades of grey, plaid and a pop of green - in such a subtle and chic way.

I wanted to keep the coat the focal point and therefore styled it with monochromatic shades by pairing it with grey skinny jeans from Rag & Bone and a grey Equipment turtleneck sweater, layered with my black vintage coat for added warmth. Monika Chiang thigh high boots and a Chanel Le Boy bag elevated the look with a classic edge, and a vintage lion brooch and my American Eagle mirrored sunnies added minimal accents to the overall look. This was one of my personal favorite looks of all the outfits I wore for NYFW because I like working trends into my wardrobe in a way that is uniquely my style, and tailored in such a way that it can remain current even after the trend has passed.

POSHEstyle: NYFW Day3 - Royal Blue Velvet Jumpsuit

Me, wear velvet...NEVER! Well, never came....

It was day3 of NYFW and I was not about to let the snow deter me from wearing one of my originally designed pieces. My clothing line LAPOSHE has been on hold over the pass couple years with a break for graduate school, adjusting to a new country, starting a new life and a new job...the list goes on, but it's time to get back to the basics and so I decided to get into designer mode and create a few outfits specifically for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

I fell in love with this velvet fabric the moment I saw it. One of the major trends seen on the runways for Spring 2015 was velvet. Donna Karan, Nina Ricci and Tommy Hilfiger all had it as a main inspiration in their 2015 collections. There is a certain luxurious and sophisticated feel to it that keeps us going back for more. I particularly loved the richness and regality of this royal blue color but wanted to do something more casual and sporty. After going back and forth, I decided a chic "sports-luxe" jumpsuit would be perfection for Fashion Week. But, then the challenge with the frigid snowy weather was, how to layer it so the jumpsuit wasn't lost under layers of protection.

I wore a turtleneck from Vince under the jumpsuit, a Rhyme Los Angeles tweed moto vest with hints off green and blue layered over it, and my a sleek Chanel jacket as another layer. Our curated gemstone "Catherine" necklace added a little glitz (on the webstore this week), and Aldo ankle booties and a felt fedora by David & Young completed the look.

POSHEstyle: NYFW Day2 - All Leather Romper + Thigh High Boots

Officially my first day at the Mercedes Benz tents (second for NYFW) and I'm already feeling nostalgic. Over the past few seasons I've covered multiple shows as the Fashion Editor for Triple The Focus magazine, and had the experience I always imagined before moving to NYC. I've heard many talks about the great times at Bryant Park, and with Sex and the City being an all time favorite, I can surely respect that; but Lincoln Center gave me my first fashion week high and for me it will always be home.

On my second day I was scheduled to see MONGOL and Mark & Estel (reviews of all the shows will be in the next issue of the magazine and I will post each here as well). Outfit planning this season was a challenge with the brutally cold weather but fashion always prevails no matter what! (click images to expand)

I decided to do a rocker-chic look this day; ready for Fashion Week domination. I bought these amazing Monika Chiang leather thigh high boots before my month long vacation in the tropics, so I was aching to wear them. As we all know thigh high boots are having a major moment this Fall/Winter season. I paired them with a leather romper from Forever21, a classic ripped knit turtleneck sweater from the New York & Company and an edgy leather moto vest by 6 Shore Road. The look was accessorized with a pair of Ray-Bay wayfarers, an ASOS beanie, Moschino leather belt, Bulova watch and Gucci Soho Disco bag. My vintage SAKS Fifth Avenue fur coat was the final piece for a fashionable but functional, freezing second-first day.
