The best thing about fashion now, is there are no rules! Casual has gone glam, dressy now works as daywear, we wear white after labor day and who doesn’t mix metallics? It’s all about knowing how to transition each piece into something unorthodox and untraditional.

That is what I love most about sweatshirts. It is such a basic piece that can be transformed into the highlight of an outfit and I had so much fun putting this look together and collaborating with a very cool new brand.

STRUCKxGOLD is a new lifestyle clothing and art brand by a talented young designer, Nicholas Anglin better known by his alias THEANGLEi. The brand is “inspired by 1950's popular culture, iconography, Hiphop, Reggae and Dancehall music and lifestyle.” The brands’ website will be officially launched 2015 but preview styles are presently available at www.iandisupply.com. I kept the overall tone a black and white combination, making the graphics and print on the sweatshirt stand out. Cigarette pants balanced the loose fit on top and a classic pair of black Christian Louboutin raised the style factor from casual to dressy. I layered the sweatshirt over a classic white button down with a folded collar which made the look more polished. I also layered a Zara trench coat and picked up the cutest head warmer from a street side vendor which came in very handy on what was a chilly NYC day!
