I did this shoot a few weeks ago but I've been busy traveling and just now getting a moment to post. The 70s wide-leg, boot-cut pants are back and cooler than ever; with modern cuts, contemporary prints and washed denim. I don't know your thoughts, but I'm feeling the groove of this trend.
"Denim on Denim" is huge on the streets and why not? It only makes wearing denim twice as nice and double the fun. I've actually had this pair of boot-cut denim jeans by TRF Denim for about a decade and they truly have stand the test of time. The finish and wash is in crisp condition and you couldn't tell it isn't a modern day, high-end variation of this retro look.
I paired it with a sleeveless denim button down from H&M. The shades and washes of both pieces are very close, so it creates a seamless flow from head to toe and also adds height to the frame. Perfect, if you want to look taller - hint, hint!
I wasn't grown in the 70s, but I'm an air sign so I naturally live by the freedom of expression and creative exploration. Elements of this hippie-style connection are evident in pieces I have held on to for years, making this recent trend a breeze to incorporate into my personal style. Case in point, I've had this belt for over a decade as well, and I've never even considered the thought of throwing it out.
When it comes to bags, I invest more into classic pieces, but this fringe cross-body bag from the Carlos Santana line is the perfect balance of on-trend and budget-approved to keep me current without spending too much. The tan color is neutral and pairs well with everything. The bucket style hits this season's "must" list and the size fits all my necessities perfectly.
Finishing details included, layered wrap bracelets, a vintage ring, a Michele watch, Valentino Rockstud sunglasses, and Fergie gladiator sandals.
