POSHEstyle: Holiday Gift Guide - KARL WHO? Sweatshirt

It's the season of giving and over the next couple weeks I'll be sharing some of my picks as the perfect gifts this holiday - starting with the chicest, coolest, and most comfortable sweatshirt I own ;)

Clearly you can tell I have a real obsession with this brand...I've featured it on the blog a couple times, but I truly can't get enough of The Karl Who? sweatshirts from Socialitte! They are my favorite go-to for casually-chic style this season - uber cool with thigh high boots and skinny jeans, or rocked like this, with boyfriend jeans and kicks. Another piece I virtually live and sleep in - these ripped denim from H&M - holy moly are they comfy - I'm addicted!!! A quick DIY tip - I tore them open at the knee but didn't want it to be so exposed, so I used a big safety pin that not only closed it, but gave it an extra edge of downtown chic.

I accessorized the look with edgy-glam details - this amazing choker from Katie Lares and exquisite rings by Solomeina were the perfect touches (FYI, wear them stacked or as separates). These unique pieces can be found online or at the newest and coolest boutique in Soho - Flying Solo. This concept store is home to 40 NYC designers, who own and operate the store themselves...that means so salespersons, personal experiences, and meeting the creators. I promise you won't be disappointed with the awesome gifts you'll find here (including my swimwear - LAPOSHE - shameless plug - lol)

Final details to my "cool-girl" look were my Chanel Boy (because what's cooler than him), Tom Ford aviators and Zara kicks...mission completed!

POSHEstyle: Pretty in Pink

So true story - my alias during high school was "Pinky" - no, not because of any intense infatuation with the color, but because I played competitive tennis and would get really pink in the face from being out in the sun constantly. Ironically, I have grown to love every shade of pink - it's flirty, feminine and fun - what more could a girl ask for?!

This pretty little pink dress from H&M got me super excited - not only is it Spring/Summer perfection - it was on sale for a steal at $29.99. Nevermind that my size was sold out, I wasn't about to leave it, so I took the next size up and viola - it works!

The great thing about this silhouette is that it's not cut to hug the body, so wearing it a little loose doesn't look ill-fitting or sloppy. It would be interesting to see what my actual size fits like but I feel so easy, breezy, beautiful in this dress that it really doesn't matter :)

As a designer, I've always had a keen focus on back details - I find an open back one of the most alluring cut on a woman. These criss-cross straps form a delicate pattern that is soft and sensual.

I paired the dress with a pop of red for a color contrast - wearing my all-time favorite pair of Christian Louboutin pumps. A nude Kate Spade tote was then the perfect neutral, as it did not detract from the color block pairing.

Marble oversized Versace sunglasses added an eclectic element to the look, and minimal jewelry - a pair of diamond studs and a diamond ring - kept the dress the focal point.

Spring calls for a light coats, and I snatched this H&M at the sale for $19.99 (down from $69.99) - I was shocked too! The fresh cream color is a great neutral for springs' bright colors and floral prints, the cut is structured and form flattering, and the aztec belt adds definition to the waist and an interesting detail.

POSHEstyle: The White Tee

Sometimes the simplicity of a white tee is all you need to take an outfit from bland to ultra stylish. It can be paired with everything - jeans, skirts, slacks, shorts - and my ultimate favorite, dresses - for a tres chic ensemble.

However, keep in mind not all white tees are the same, and different fits work for different silhouettes and styles. Choosing the right tee isn't as simple as it sounds - I'll be sure to do a post on that soon ;)

With a wardrobe that is mostly filled with blacks, white, neutrals - it's refreshing when I wear a little color. I found this high-waisted skirt at H&M with the prettiest floral print. It's a great length without being too exposed, and the high-waist elongates the legs and clinches at the smallest part of the waist for a very flattering fit.

Pairing a printed skirt with a crisp white t-shirt keeps the skirt the focal point, and the look effortlessly chic. This American Apparel v-neck fitted tee hugs the figure for a seamless silhouette that is feminine and flirty. A more dressy alternative would be a silk top in white or any color from the skirt's palette. A sweet, soft blush color would be my next choice.

I hate to face it, but Fall is not too far away and I am already in planning mode. I am very big on shopping smart and investing in pieces that are transitional throughout seasons. Taking this look from summer to fall is easy with a layered blazer. This coral piece from H&M is a sweet addition.

I had this one personally monogrammed with my zodiac sign "Gemini" and I absolutely LOVE it!

Blocked heels have been a big trend this season and these nude beauties from Kensie have been a life-saver for me. I have worn then repetitively with their versatility and comfort.

The final details included; a Bulova watch, American Eagle aviators, stacked mixed metallic rings, and a mint beaded necklace. Accessories are the special touches that brings an outfit to life - whether it be minimalist or art-deco, over-the-top glam - and these mint colors play so well with the floral skirt and on the white shirt for a cohesive and dynamic look.

POSHEstyle: We Are All Cool Kids - 1950s Style!

There's a retro evolution this season that has made vintage-inspired styles mainstream contemporary. From the 1950s sophisticated glam to the 1970s free-spirited expressions, old is the ultimate new!

I've always been fascinated by old hollywood's classic movies and tales of glitz, glamour and high-fashion. The days when women and men always put their best foot forward; making sure they made a good impression and commanded any room they entered. It's this underling attitude that I encourage my clients to adapt - having pride in their personal presentation and communication to the world. Times and styles may have changed, but the essence of being the best version of yourself should always remain!

I saw this retro-inspired, scooped neck t-shirt by Le Motto on Instagram a few weeks ago. I immediately decided to scoop one up for myself and was so excited to receive it. I love and support the movement it stands for, "Because Your Words Have Power. Wear and Share Good Words." I bought the "We Are All Cool Kids" shirt because it's along the same inclusive philosophy I govern my life and work by, but there are definitely a few more on my "POSHE List" to get.

With a 1950s inspiration, I paired the scooped neck t-shirt with a full midi skirt by H&M, keeping the look monochromatic in black and white with accents of gold. The skirt is fun, feminine and gives the casual t-shirt a sophisticated, retro punch.

This gorgeous purse is very special to me, as it belonged to my aunt who passed last year. That's what I adore about vintage pieces, there's a history, a life, a piece of soul connected to each piece. I think she would approve of how I'm wearing it and that's a pleasant thought to have.

I kept the other accessories very minimal as well; my Bulova watch, a gold ring, vintage belt and Versace sunglasses. The look was finished off with a pair of classic Christian Louboutin pumps for an effortless feel.

I styled the white t-shirt with all black not just because it's chic, but because I wanted the main focus for this outfit to be its message. I strongly believe words are powerful and we should all make more effort to express them in a positive and uplifting way to ourselves and to others. (click images to expand)
