POSHEstyle: Boyfriend Jeans + Kimono

Spring is here...Finally! Yes, at 60 degrees I am in celebratory mode and ready to pull out the tank tops and show some bare skin.

I think I can safely say for many - this winter has been a mental struggle and a true test of our threshold for the cold and living in NYC. But, it seems the bi-polar weather is behind us - fingers crossed - and it's time to fall back in love with the city that has captured our hearts.

Spring is a time to get out and smell the roses - venture outside the proximity of our NYC square footages and come alive again. It's time to lose all the layers and gravitate towards feeling light and airy. And, what better way to do this than with the classic blue jeans and white shirt combo? It's just so fresh, so clean!

Denim is on the hot list for Spring, but not your typical skinny jeans. It's all about having a variety this season, and the Boyfriend jeans is a must for your closet - it's chic, comfortable and scores major cool points on the style radar. I scored this pair from Forever21 two years ago - back then it was a little looser - which I prefer - but it still fits nicely, so not too much complaints here. The ripped details are also hugely trending this Spring, so if you have an old pair and don't want to spurge on this look, grab those scissors and start snipping away. I paired it with a simple white tank from American Apparel, white python Christian Louboutin pigalle, my Coach tote and Ray-Ban wayfarer.

What's also back for the season - KIMONOS. From boho-fringe to asian inspired, these pieces add an extra oomph for a casually chic look. I love this piece from Ecote I bought last year at Urban Outfitters. It's super trendy now, but its subtle print and classic color gives it staying power even after the trend has passed. It can also be belted and worn as a dress - talk about multi-purpose and budget-friendly!

I kept the entire outfit in a monochromatic blue and white color tone, giving it a very easy, breezy, beautiful feel. Can someone say - Covergirl? (click images to expand)

POSHEstyle: Sequins to the Office

Sequins to work? Sure you can!

I love to experiment when it comes to corporate style by wearing pieces that aren't generally associated as office appropriate. Wearing sequins to the office is one such situation. Many fear wearing sparkles during the day or believe it's too much for work, but this shimmery fabric - if done right - can really make an outfit.

The main trick is to rock sequins in a casual-glam way that looks effortlessly chic. Mix your sequins with something more casual or classic, to offset and balance the glitz. Another tip - especially if trying this look for the first time - stick to the darker hues of a color, such as, navy blue, black, maroon or a deep purple. The darker the color the more subtle the sequins.

The pencil length of this sequins skirt naturally gives it a sophisticated flair and is a great choice for an office look. Though I originally purchased this Forever21 skirt for a dressy event, I decided to add a little pizzazz to my day and wear it to work instead. Why not?

I paired the skirt with a crisp white shirt from ASOS and a Forever21 navy blue turtleneck sweater-vest with the most interesting cut-out side details. For more corporate chicness, I added a white blazer from H&M with white Christian Louboutin pigalle pumps.

I kept the accessories at a minimum with my Hermes watch, Tiffany & Co bracelet, diamond rings and one of my favorite pieces, a delicate evil-eye necklace.

The final touch necessary to pull together your corporate style and truly make it work appropriate is your bag. I love Coach's assortments. The styles are clean, classic, contemporary and a great price point. It's a classic brand with a solid reputation and a great choice for work. This Coach double zip bag has multiple compartments, is a great size and the neutral blue color works with everything. I even took a break from the office, as you saw in the video above, to visit the store. I'm on the hunt for a new classic black work bag.
