POSHESTYLE: Denim on Denim + Fall Feelings

Fall is quite honestly my favorite season - not only because it gives me the challenge of creatively layering and styling - but more so because it ignites a fire within me to close the year having made progress, and to prepare for an even better year ahead. I know....talking about the new year already....what??....well September has always felt like the real start of everything new for me...so HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

It is also the time that I reflect most on the year I have had, and what I need to work on - personally, professionally, physically and mentally. I tend to draw back socially and take time to myself to go through a self and life analysis. This year in particular has been filled with extremities. Personally - I finally let go of someone I loved dearly and held on to in my heart for years, but oddly it's been one of the most exhilarating things to feel at peace with your past. Professionally - I've successfully contributed to building the business of a very reputable brand, whilst I've struggled with the growth of my own...including this one...but I love what I do and I'm one determined woman so it will happen! Physically - I was awaken to the reality that my metabolism isn't invincible and it's time to get disciplined and serious about my health, which also excites me because who doesn't love all the cute gear - everywhere! Mentally - there have been some real headaches, but I've realized that what's most important is focusing on the positives, living in the now, and being unapologetically true to you no matter what life throws your way.

Ok...I've been all up in my feelings - so lets talk some fashion now. Denim on denim is more a classic look than a trend, but the combo is hot on the radar right now - especially with how "warm" the weather has been. Denim is the perfect transitional fabric...it's great for laying on a cool day. This oversized jacket is perfect because it can be worn with a t-shirt when the temperature turns up, or with heavier knits when it gets colder. The python print adds a very chic touch to these Rock & Republic jeans, so I knew instantly they were a must have - add a simple white tank it's a perfect complement.

As for the added touches of paired accessories - python Louboutins and minimal classic jewelry like this Hermes Heure H watch - took this look from streets to suites. The backpack is the ultimate chic carry along, and this Mansur Gavriel makes a very clean and clear statement. A pair of RayBan aviators pulls this ultra cool - effortlessly glam look together.

POSHEstyle: NYFW - The Luana Satchel + Faux Fur Stole

We've heard it over and over - accessories can make an outfit. This truly is a golden fashion rule....but what's more important is choosing the right accessories that can bring your look from sweet to superstar - just like that!

A budget-friendly outfit can look like a million bucks when paired with carefully selected accents. I'm a very conscious shopper when it comes to clothing - the majority of my wardrobe are bought at fast fashion or mid-priced stores - and my designer pieces are generally a steal at sample sales or major discounted finds. But, accessories I will spend a little more on...because they are the most versatile part of a look, and can stand the test of time - or at least long enough to be worth the splurge.

The classic yet modern look of this Luana Italy leather satchel instantly caught my attention. Its elegant style screams old-hollywood glam, and the edgy hardware detail balances the right touch of contemporary. The best part - the price is accessible and won't break the bank. Talk about affordable luxury at its finest!

A fab fur stole (faux preferably) has been a major trend for fall/winter. I bought this from an independent designer around November, and trust, it was no easy feat waiting out the debut until NYFW. I adore the contrasting sides of stripes and hot pink, the touch is simply divine, and overall, it is just a stunning, eye-catching piece. Here I showed three (3) way I like to wear it - double draped, over-the shoulder, and as a bag accent ;)

Ok, so let's get back to basics of this look. Simplicity can be so stunning, and this American Apparel black turtle-neck, and Zara high-waisted pencil skirt form the perfect team in achieving sophisticated ease.

To keep the vintage-glam homage of this look, the final touches included my Christian Louboutin pigalle pumps, classic Chanel oversized sunglasses, and a timeless Hermes watch.

POSHEstyle: NYFW - Shades of Love

Valentine's Day is suppose to be all warm and fuzzy, right? Well, in NYC this past one was cold and icy! Nonetheless, it is all about what's on the outside, and the record low chilly temperatures didn't stop the heat from turning up for many ;) I spent my day doing something that I LOVE...getting lost in next season's collections and falling madly in love with a few hot thangs.

This red and plum combo had me feeling all kinds of "lovie-dovie" - too bad I didn't exactly have a special someone to be all mushy with -  but I did get some gorgeous roses from an admirer, and they were a warm surprise after a frigid day. I'm a big romantic, and though it may sound cliche, I love the idea of so much love floating in the air :)

A long maxi skirt with an oversized sweater is one of the chicest combos a woman can wear. It's feminine and effortless, and can work casually with flats or sneakers, or dressed up with heels. Pleats have been a big trend for fall/winter, and so has this maroon/burgundy color, so it's double touch point with this beauty from Anthropologie.

A red/burgundy oversized Missoni sweater broke the monotone color when layered with this faux leather moto jacket from Hou5e Boutique. If you don't own a moto jacket as yet, it's a must for every closet - trust it opens a world of style possibilities. You can wear anything, add a moto jacket and it's instantly cool.

I love when shoes are a work of art and these Monika Chiang mohawk pumps are no disappointment. The color, gold accents and unique feature make it quite a standout. Other final details to my NYFW "Shades of Love" look included a Mansur Gavriel coin purse that doubles as a clutch - now that's something that makes my heart smile :)

POSHEstyle: Nude on Nude

The all-nude look is the definition of understated elegance - the soft palette and bare illusion create the perfect complement of sexy sophistication.

Bare legs in December in NYC is practically outrageous, but this taupe and black sweater dress happened on a "warm" Winter day. With this unbelievable weather, we're either having an extended Fall or an early Spring but whatever it be - I'm not complaining!

The bodycon fit is a rarity in my personal style but when I do it's usually tea or pencil length, has upper body coverage or made with thick quality fabric - all features that enhance the elegance of a body hugging cut. This dress accentuates all the curves, in all the right places, without being too revealing.

Keeping the nude theme, I wore a pair of Christian Louboutin pigalle,  and my newest handbag addition - the  Louis Vuitton Capucines I got this past Summer in Paris. It's my first Louis Vuitton piece and I'm in love. I'm not a hugely fond of monogrammed prints but the clean, solid style of this LV bag had me at "hello"

What do think of my nude behavior? It's crazy to think this is one of my last post for 2015...this past year has been a delight sharing my personal style and fashion experience with you. I'm super excited for what's to come as we take POSHESTYLE into 2016 and feel truly blessed and grateful to have you along for the ride :)

POSHEstyle: Patchwork Denim + Knits

It isn't exactly the season for denim but with the "warm" winter weather NYC has been having a light denim jacket with some layered knits isn't far-fetched.

The inspiration of this outfit started with this patchwork denim A-line mini I bought at Zara. Its 70's inspired cut is very on trend for the Fall/Winter boho-chic crave. I played on the patchwork theme throughout the rest of the outfit by I keeping the tone monochromatic with shades of blue in different textures, which essentially created different "patches."

Anything "boyfriend" or oversized I am obsessed with - I always go a size up in jackets/coats/ sweaters/shirts and was happy to find this Achro Brand denim jacket that gives a very relaxed, comfy fit.

I created some contrast by layering a pinstripe boyfriend shirt from Joe Fresh - awesome place for great basics btw - under a knit turtleneck from H&M. The cutout detail of the sweater vest adds an element of surprise that is very chic and stylish.

I accessorized the look with a pair of low block heeled booties by Franco Sarto and my Mansur Gavriel bucket bag - which I've been wearing daily all December - it fits everything!
