POSHEstyle: GingHam Romper & Letting Go

It's crazy to think we are already half way through the year, and summer is quickly making it's way to "until next time!" This year, so far - has been one of changes and transitions - some exhilarating, and some exasperating. But, one thing has kept me true to my resilience - and that is - letting go!

Last year, this time, I had moved into my new apt in FiDi a few months prior; I had just launched my swim brand - LAPOSHE - my blog was really starting to grow, and I was about to embark on the different, but exciting territory of the real estate business. But, through all these promising accomplishments, I was struggling to keep my smile up and the tears away - because, I was simultaneously experiencing a plato of emotional turmoil and confusion from having my ex - and my heartbreaker - back in my life after 4 years.

It was through that struggle, that I realized how crucial my emotional health is to my productivity - and though I was still pushing myself to achieve my goals - I could see them suffering. I lost momentum and consistency, I couldn't focus, and I was completely distracted. But, sometimes you need your kryptonite to remind you just how strong you really are, and how far you've come.

And then...this year happened...and I made a promise to "let it go" and accept that not everything is meant to be, and that's ok! We can't steer someone else's destiny, we can only captain our own - it's ok to choose YOU! That lead me to where I am now - a new chapter, new neighborhood, new apt - filled with positivity, living in the moment, enjoying life, and feeling very optimistic and excited for what's to come :)

Ok, ok...enough of my personal life banter...lets talk a little fashion and a lot of style. Gingham has been the biggest trend this season, and this Zara romper from 2 years ago was conveniently in my closet waiting for its perfect debut. The streets and modern architecture of my old neighborhood downtown was the perfect backdrop for this clean, structured and chic look. The classic accessories - Chanel bag, Chanel J12 watch, Chanel oversized sunnies and Louboutins - transformed what may be "trendy" right now into what will be "timeless" forever.

POSHEstyle: Blushing Nudes + Christian Paul Watch

Spring is in the air and we can feel Summer coming - with such sweet anticipation! But, though the season brings with it blooming beauties and clearer skies, it's also that time of the year for April showers and erratic temperatures - so don't put away all your warmer pieces just yet!

That's what makes this Jessica Simpson trench coat so ideal - it gives an extra layer of warmth without the bulk and the pastel color is trend bullseye.

Monochromatic nudes and blush tones are another "YES" this season. The all-over soft tones create big impact without being over-the-top. I'm obsessed with this BCBG rose gold skinny pants - the glitter effect makes it festive for night time fun, but it's subdued enough for daytime wear.

L'amour is a gift - that's the truth - just one of the many reasons I am in love with Le Motto brand. The line of motivational and inspiring messages on basics, is super chic and classy. Just beware... you'll find it hard to choose which one - so be prepared to snatch a few.

If you keep up with the blog, you've seen this Luana Italy satchel, but I've been living in it all Spring - with plans to do the same all summer. It's just such a perfect size for day-to-night and it's stunning!

I saved my favorite part of this look for last. My ultimate obsession is not shoes or bags...it's watches. So, you can image my excitement when I received this beautiful marble and rose gold timepiece from Christian Paul Watches. The brand is out of Australia and the entire line is to die for. The chic combos and styles are perfect for everyday wear, and stylish enough to dress up all fancy. Another added to the collection makes me a happy gal :)

POSHEstyle: Patchwork Denim + Knits

It isn't exactly the season for denim but with the "warm" winter weather NYC has been having a light denim jacket with some layered knits isn't far-fetched.

The inspiration of this outfit started with this patchwork denim A-line mini I bought at Zara. Its 70's inspired cut is very on trend for the Fall/Winter boho-chic crave. I played on the patchwork theme throughout the rest of the outfit by I keeping the tone monochromatic with shades of blue in different textures, which essentially created different "patches."

Anything "boyfriend" or oversized I am obsessed with - I always go a size up in jackets/coats/ sweaters/shirts and was happy to find this Achro Brand denim jacket that gives a very relaxed, comfy fit.

I created some contrast by layering a pinstripe boyfriend shirt from Joe Fresh - awesome place for great basics btw - under a knit turtleneck from H&M. The cutout detail of the sweater vest adds an element of surprise that is very chic and stylish.

I accessorized the look with a pair of low block heeled booties by Franco Sarto and my Mansur Gavriel bucket bag - which I've been wearing daily all December - it fits everything!

POSHEstyle: Red, Blue & White - Happy 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day to my American friends and family. Let's get this party started!!

I welcome any reason to celebrate and share positivity, and there is nothing more dynamic and exhilarating than a fireworks show. I wasn't born an American but it's been a second home and love for the majority of my life. It's partly responsible for my passion for fashion and creative expression. Living in NYC inspires me, pushes me, and molds me everyday. We are all products of our experiences, and I'm happy to have the US be a apart of my journey of self-discovery and development.

I know many of us refrain from the cliche color code of national holidays and celebrations, but the trick is knowing how to coordinate an outfit that's wearable without looking like a billboard for patriotism. Think waving the flag versus wearing it!

I found this chambray overall on the sale rack at H&M for $20 last week (score), and given my obsession with jumpsuits I had to have it. It's perfect for the summer - light, cool and easy to wear - and a great alternative to denim because it's more flexible. It's also blue, so fitting for a 4th of July inspired look.

I have been coveting a Mansur Gavriel bag for over a year and last week that dream came through. My lovely friend and FIT alum, recently started working with the company and was sweet enough to hook a girl up...thanks Ali!

If you don't know by now, these gorgeous, utilitarian, Italian made bags are on the "must-have" list of every fashionista and style influencer. They are constantly sold out and have garnered Birkin-esque waiting lists, so getting your hands on one is major. Suffice to say, I was very happy to snatch this red bucket bag and just in time for the holiday weekend.

Now for the white! Wedges are a summer stable and this season is no different. I've had these Charlotte Russe espadrille style wedges for a few years and I hope they give me a few more. They are super high but super comfy - a rare combo and heaven sent for a woman who loves heels as much as I do.

This is a very relaxed outfit that's perfect for a barbecue or a casual day out, but can easily transition to a rooftop fireworks viewing party. I kept the accessories minimal with a pair of RayBan wayfarer, a Bulova watch and a few rings.

So, there you have - my red, blue and white - 4th of July inspired outfit. It's chic, effortless, wearable and still says "Happy Birthday America!"  (click images to enlarge)

POSHEstyle: Little White Eyelets Dress

The warm sunny days are finally here and all I have to say is bring on the LIttle White Dresses!

Every woman knows the rule of thumb of the "Little Black Dress" - it is the powerhouse of dresses and closet staple with its timeless, classic and versatile characteristics - no closet should be without this piece. But, the "Little White Dress" is a force of style not to be overlooked. It is the quintessential summer perfection with its light, feminine and effortless chicness.

Not to forget mentioning, it looks great on every complexion and with so much variety of styles and fits, every figure can find a dress that flatters. I am particularly partial to the flared A-line cut. It is sweet and feminine, works for every body type, and a great option for women who want to camouflage their stomach and thighs - areas I have found with many of my clients to cause major frustration.

This white cotton eyelet dress that I found at a steal shopping at Marshall's, screams summertime fun - it's the perfect complement to the season and a must try, so get to shopping and find your eyelet closet addition.

For the overall look, I went for a low-key, minimalistic, boho-chic vibe - pairing earth tone elements with the dress. Last year, I was invited to participate in a focus group as an industry influencer and fashion consultant for a Brazilian brand called Schutz, entering the US market and newly launched in NYC. I was given a gift certificate to go to their Madison Avenue flagship store to evaluate the shopping experience and products. Needless to say, I was very excited walking out of the store with not just one, but two beautiful pairs of shoes, including this woven gem of a boot.

I'm not a big fan of the fanny pack, but I found this super adorable belt bag by Michael Kors a couple years ago and it has finally made its debut. I love how sleek and compact it is. The python texture, woven belt and gold details makes it a true stand-out piece. With the boots and the bag being such unique, eye-catching statements, I kept other accents very minimal, wearing a gold Bulova watch, a gold ring and a beige-framed Ray-Ban wayfarer - keeping the look cool, calm and collected ;)
