POSHEstyle: Combat Boots + Smiley Face

It ain't easy being a woman in today's world....especially if you're a strong-willed, resilient and independent one. That's why I approach everyday, every challenge, every roadblock the same way - with a fiercely positive attitude and a determination to overcome and succeed!

That's exactly what this outfit stands for - these combat boots by Aldo are a few seasons back but classic enough to not fade to the trends, and perfect for a #BossBabe on a mission. I've always been big on adding socks to funk up an outfit and these uber-cool "Snoop Dogg" Happy Socks did just that - not to mention - my obsession with their bid to Reggae as a proud Jamaican - Brap, Brap!!

Ok, so mixing hard and soft elements together is probably my all-time favorite look to style. I love the juxtaposition of merging masculine and feminine touches, and that's where a fun, flirty dress came in ;) This olive green H&M dress is so light and airy - it literally glides with your body, and I always feel so feminine whenever I wear it.

And now, lets talk about this mood booster of a bag - it's sure to brighten anyone's day! I found it at a little boutique and it's brand-less, but there are so many cool graphic accessories trending now - I'm sure an alternative wont be that hard to find.

The final accessories are most definitely the coolest part of this entire look. These one-of-a-kind rings by IZA are beyond rock & roll. You have to check out the designer concept store, Flying Solo, at 224 Mulberry Street in Soho to find them - beware though - you wont be able to choose easily from all the amazing jewelry at this store.

As women, we have the pressure of finding a balance between being thick-skinned, strong, assertive, and still being demure, elegant, soft - otherwise we're either taken advantage of, or labeled as too difficult. This outfit is for every fierce, fun, fearless female - who lives her life in "combat boots with a smiley face" - and every man who respects and loves her for being the #hero she is!

Happy International Women's Day - EVERYDAY!!!!!!!!! ( Just in case you forgot to keep celebrating)

POSHEstyle: Pretty in Pink

So true story - my alias during high school was "Pinky" - no, not because of any intense infatuation with the color, but because I played competitive tennis and would get really pink in the face from being out in the sun constantly. Ironically, I have grown to love every shade of pink - it's flirty, feminine and fun - what more could a girl ask for?!

This pretty little pink dress from H&M got me super excited - not only is it Spring/Summer perfection - it was on sale for a steal at $29.99. Nevermind that my size was sold out, I wasn't about to leave it, so I took the next size up and viola - it works!

The great thing about this silhouette is that it's not cut to hug the body, so wearing it a little loose doesn't look ill-fitting or sloppy. It would be interesting to see what my actual size fits like but I feel so easy, breezy, beautiful in this dress that it really doesn't matter :)

As a designer, I've always had a keen focus on back details - I find an open back one of the most alluring cut on a woman. These criss-cross straps form a delicate pattern that is soft and sensual.

I paired the dress with a pop of red for a color contrast - wearing my all-time favorite pair of Christian Louboutin pumps. A nude Kate Spade tote was then the perfect neutral, as it did not detract from the color block pairing.

Marble oversized Versace sunglasses added an eclectic element to the look, and minimal jewelry - a pair of diamond studs and a diamond ring - kept the dress the focal point.

Spring calls for a light coats, and I snatched this H&M at the sale for $19.99 (down from $69.99) - I was shocked too! The fresh cream color is a great neutral for springs' bright colors and floral prints, the cut is structured and form flattering, and the aztec belt adds definition to the waist and an interesting detail.

POSHEstyle: The Pleated Skirt + Karl Who? Sweatshirt

The accordion pleated skirt is back with a vengeance this spring - from maxi to mini - this look is being seen all over the racks and is a must this season.

This off-white Zara pleated skirt is the perfect way to bring some leather into spring. The color is light and airy; the length is classy and chic; and the "leather meets pleats" is a good balance of timeless and modern.

Now, who says you can't wear a sweatshirt to work or to drinks...even to dinner?! Well, I would be comfortable (literally) wearing this outfit in any of those settings. The high-fashion style of the Karl Who? sweatshirt makes it an easily transitional piece, and its sports-luxe look is very on trend. I've team up with the creators once again to offer a 20% discount with code POSHE20 at checkout - so head over to the site shopsocialtte.com to get this and other super chic styles ;)

You can never go wrong with a classic, sleek Prada bag for work, it denotes "boss-lady" and usually means business. It also works equally well as a day bag with jeans and a t-shirt for that chic, effortless style. A timeless choice!

As Marilyn Monroe said - "Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world." These Christian Louboutin So Kate pumps definitely make me feel like I have superpowers every time I put them on. A red pair of pumps will do wonders in spicing up your closet, and adding a touch of va-va-voom to any look.

And, not to forget it's all in the details! I keep my accessories standard for the most part, but have fun with it if that's your style. For this look, I paired a cool pair of RayBan wayfarers, my Hermes watch and a few vintage rings.
