POSHEstyle: NYFW - Karl Who? Sweatshirt

What a start to 2016 it has been...I've been a little MIA over the past few weeks with juggling work, moving to a new apartment and NYFW all at once, but I did manage to catch a few great shows and those reviews will be up over the next few days. But first up is "What I Wore!" and this is a good one ;)

Who isn't obsessed with Karl Lagerfeld? I will never forget my visit to the Chanel headquarters in Paris and seeing him - always cool, calm and collected. This ultra chic take on the Karl pandemonium instantly caught my attention. The Karl Who? collection of luxury sweatshirts, t-shirts and phones cases are the perfect addition of versatile style to any wardrobe. Dress it up, or dress it down, and still look effortlessly stylish either way.

I saw endless possibilities when I received this royal blue sweatshirt from Shopsocialitte,  and couldn't wait to rock it at fashion week because though it's in actuality a basic, it sure does scream high-fashion - and based on the response to it, I'm not the only person who thought so.

Now, here comes the good part! I've teamed up with the makers of this cool line to offer my readers and followers a chance to own a piece from the collection. One winner will receive a Karl Who? t-shirt which retails for $128, and trust me, though the brand is new, they can not keep up with stock so get in on this! Follow @poshestyle and @shopsocialitte instagram accounts, like the photo with the giveaway details and tag friends for extra entries. Ends March 1st ;)

Ok, enough with my Karl Legerfeld obsession - Let's get to the rest of the outfit. I wanted to give the sweatershirt some dimension so I layered with a stripe oversized button up shirt from JoeFresh. It was historically one of the coldest weekends NYC has had, so I wore a long J.Crew coat and leather gloves. Keeping the relaxed boyfriend theme, I paired these distressed jeans from J.Brand and wore calf high suede BCBG booties to add a dressy touch to a casual look. Chanel sunglasses, Chanel j12 watch and Gucci Soho finished off this NYFW look.

POSHEstyle: Bold Stripes + White Denim

It seems stripes return to the spotlight every year, but this season's play on the motif is bigger and bolder then ever - from mod zigzag to sailor motifs this print will be a hit on the streets for Spring/Summer 2015.

Stripes can be tricky however, as they don't compliment every body type. When shopping, keep this in mind - horizontal stripes can widen a body frame and vertical stripes can add height. If the bold is too much for you, I recommend trying thin stripes. They are sophisticated and timeless, and also a great staple that pair well with almost everything.

White denim is also back and more transitional than ever.  Though a summer favorite, white  has become a year round basic, and we'll be seeing much more for 2015.

I wore this high-rise pair by Levi's with a cropped sweater from Forever21, and an oversized Forever21 moto jacket. A classic pair of Christian Louboutin pigalle and Gucci soho disco bag complemented the neutral color theme of the outfit. Final touches included; vintage brooches, a Sara Designs Swarovski crystal wrap bracelet and America Eagle mirrored aviators.

POSHEstyle: NYFW Day2 - All Leather Romper + Thigh High Boots

Officially my first day at the Mercedes Benz tents (second for NYFW) and I'm already feeling nostalgic. Over the past few seasons I've covered multiple shows as the Fashion Editor for Triple The Focus magazine, and had the experience I always imagined before moving to NYC. I've heard many talks about the great times at Bryant Park, and with Sex and the City being an all time favorite, I can surely respect that; but Lincoln Center gave me my first fashion week high and for me it will always be home.

On my second day I was scheduled to see MONGOL and Mark & Estel (reviews of all the shows will be in the next issue of the magazine and I will post each here as well).  Outfit planning this season was a challenge with the brutally cold weather but fashion always prevails no matter what! I decided to do a rocker-chic look this day; ready for Fashion Week domination. I bought these amazing Monika Chiang leather thigh high boots before my month long vacation in the tropics, so I was aching to wear them. As we all know thigh high boots are having a major moment this Fall/Winter season. I paired them with a leather romper from Forever21, a classic ripped knit turtleneck sweater from the New York & Company and an edgy leather moto vest by 6 Shore Road. The look was accessorized with a pair of Ray-Bay wayfarers, an ASOS beanie, Moschino leather belt, Bulova watch and Gucci Soho Disco bag. My vintage SAKS Fifth Avenue fur coat was the final piece for a fashionable but functional, freezing second-first day.

What do guys think about the rocker-chic look? We'd love some feedback and subscribe to our blog to keep up with our posts.

POSHEstyle: NYFW Day1 - White Knit Sweater + Black Leather Skirt

With just one show scheduled off site, the Yuna Yang Fall 2015 collection, my first day of Fashion Week was a breeze. I decided to go with a look that was simple and effortless. It was a very chilly evening in NYC and I wanted to feel cozy and comfortable. For what was to be a light and relaxed night, a classic black and white monochromatic look was a no brainer.

One of my favorite items right now is my pencil leather skirt from my clothing line LAPOSHE. You'll see I wore a few pieces from my collection throughout the week and will have them up on the shop for pre-orders soon.

I paired the skirt with a sleeveless turtleneck sweater vest from Forever21 and a sleek, fitted heat-tech top from Uniqlo. Layered over that was my vintage fur coat, which keeps me so warm I would wear it everyday if I didn't consider that a fashion crime. Aldo ankle booties with gathered socks, and my trusted Gucci Soho Disco bag finished off this feminine yet edgy look. (click images to expand)

My photographer wasn't available this evening so these pics aren't my usual high quality, but I didn't want to not document the look for your guys, so I made due with what I had. Leave a comment below if you like this classic combo.

The best thing about fashion now, is there are no rules! Casual has gone glam, dressy now works as daywear, we wear white after labor day and who doesn’t mix metallics? It’s all about knowing how to transition each piece into something unorthodox and untraditional.
