POSHEstyle: Lace Dress + Belted Scarf

The snow may finally be behind us, but this was the first day of Spring - and what a white one it was!

Nonetheless, it was a lovely day. Central Park's beauty transcends seasons. Whether with its lush greens and blooming gardens or as a Winter wonderland, it's always a scenic and serene escape from the concrete buildings and busy streets.

Crochet is a huge trend for Spring and so are white dresses. I've had this H&M number for a little while but like I always say - invest in piece that can stand the test of time (classics first) and then add the trends here and there (trends after).

The micro length of the dress made it the perfect candidate for my thigh high boots by Monika Chiang. Wearing a mini shift dress with thigh high boots leaves only a hint of skin exposed, making it more fashion-forward and sophisticated.

The belted scarf has also been a popular look, and I've been doing it for a while but hadn't document. This Oudifu scarf is so warm and chic with the elephant prints. I love that it is reversible between predominantly burgundy or predominantly white. I wore it on the white side for a more all-white subtle look, with the elephant print complementing my burgundy David and Young fedora.

Even with all the snow, it wasn't a super cold day, so I layered with a light coat from Forever21. What I love most about this coat is its feminine style. It also looks great worn as a dress - I'll do a post on that look as well soon.

The final details to this look were my Chanel J12 watch, Tiffany & Co bracelet and Ray-Ban aviators.

POSHEstyle: NYFW Day4 - Grey Maxi Coat

I have an absolute fascination with anything "maxi" - dress, skirt, pants - and ultimately, coats!

This day was one of the most frigid for fashion week, and with my schedule running from Vivienne Hu at 10am to FTL MODA at 7pm, I had to prepare for what was going to be a very long and cold day. It was also the premiere weekend for the movie, "50 Shades of Grey", so with all things considered I decided to go with a long maxi coat I had designed, which coincidentally, has different shades of grey.

Grey was a major color for Fall/Winter 2014, but what was distinct about this fabric to me is the plaid print, which was also a hit trend for the season. I love how the one piece merged different "on-trend" elements together - shades of grey, plaid and a pop of green - in such a subtle and chic way.

I wanted to keep the coat the focal point and therefore styled it with monochromatic shades by pairing it with grey skinny jeans from Rag & Bone and a grey Equipment turtleneck sweater, layered with my black vintage coat for added warmth. Monika Chiang thigh high boots and a Chanel Le Boy bag elevated the look with a classic edge, and a vintage lion brooch and my American Eagle mirrored sunnies added minimal accents to the overall look. This was one of my personal favorite looks of all the outfits I wore for NYFW because I like working trends into my wardrobe in a way that is uniquely my style, and tailored in such a way that it can remain current even after the trend has passed.

What do you guys think about this look? I'd love to hear your feedback on the coat I designed and send me an email if you are interested in owning one of your own.

POSHE Travels: White Shirt + Blue Jeans

Eat. Pray. Love

Montego Bay, Jamaica

One of the most infamous combination, the classic white shirt and blues jeans is an iconic style. It's the most stylish yet basic go-to look that has the versatility to be dressed down or dressed up. The exact elements can go from one extreme of casual to the next of high-fashion on the style spectrum. Tell me I have 15 minutes to get dressed and I don't think twice about what works.

After a day of lounging and relaxing at Iberostar Resorts in Jamaica, my appetite was at an all time high. This look was a quick fix for a mellow night of dinner and dancing at the hotel's private club afterwards.

The white boyfriend shirt from Joe Fresh was cool and casual. A pair of navy blue skinny jeans from Forever21 balanced out and worked great with the oversized shirt. Red Christian Louboutin 'So Kate" pumps elevated the look to dressy and added some sex appeal. An edgy fringe purse from Monika Chiang complemented the overall look. I accessorized with my gold Bulova watch, diamond studs and a cute pearl ring from the Union Square holiday market. (click images to expand)
