POSHEstyle: NYFW - Shades of Love

Valentine's Day is suppose to be all warm and fuzzy, right? Well, in NYC this past one was cold and icy! Nonetheless, it is all about what's on the outside, and the record low chilly temperatures didn't stop the heat from turning up for many ;) I spent my day doing something that I LOVE...getting lost in next season's collections and falling madly in love with a few hot thangs.

This red and plum combo had me feeling all kinds of "lovie-dovie" - too bad I didn't exactly have a special someone to be all mushy with -  but I did get some gorgeous roses from an admirer, and they were a warm surprise after a frigid day. I'm a big romantic, and though it may sound cliche, I love the idea of so much love floating in the air :)

A long maxi skirt with an oversized sweater is one of the chicest combos a woman can wear. It's feminine and effortless, and can work casually with flats or sneakers, or dressed up with heels. Pleats have been a big trend for fall/winter, and so has this maroon/burgundy color, so it's double touch point with this beauty from Anthropologie.

A red/burgundy oversized Missoni sweater broke the monotone color when layered with this faux leather moto jacket from Hou5e Boutique. If you don't own a moto jacket as yet, it's a must for every closet - trust it opens a world of style possibilities. You can wear anything, add a moto jacket and it's instantly cool.

I love when shoes are a work of art and these Monika Chiang mohawk pumps are no disappointment. The color, gold accents and unique feature make it quite a standout. Other final details to my NYFW "Shades of Love" look included a Mansur Gavriel coin purse that doubles as a clutch - now that's something that makes my heart smile :)

POSHEstyle: NYFW Day4 - Grey Maxi Coat

I have an absolute fascination with anything "maxi" - dress, skirt, pants - and ultimately, coats!

This day was one of the most frigid for fashion week, and with my schedule running from Vivienne Hu at 10am to FTL MODA at 7pm, I had to prepare for what was going to be a very long and cold day. It was also the premiere weekend for the movie, "50 Shades of Grey", so with all things considered I decided to go with a long maxi coat I had designed, which coincidentally, has different shades of grey.

Grey was a major color for Fall/Winter 2014, but what was distinct about this fabric to me is the plaid print, which was also a hit trend for the season. I love how the one piece merged different "on-trend" elements together - shades of grey, plaid and a pop of green - in such a subtle and chic way.

I wanted to keep the coat the focal point and therefore styled it with monochromatic shades by pairing it with grey skinny jeans from Rag & Bone and a grey Equipment turtleneck sweater, layered with my black vintage coat for added warmth. Monika Chiang thigh high boots and a Chanel Le Boy bag elevated the look with a classic edge, and a vintage lion brooch and my American Eagle mirrored sunnies added minimal accents to the overall look. This was one of my personal favorite looks of all the outfits I wore for NYFW because I like working trends into my wardrobe in a way that is uniquely my style, and tailored in such a way that it can remain current even after the trend has passed.

What do you guys think about this look? I'd love to hear your feedback on the coat I designed and send me an email if you are interested in owning one of your own.

POSHEstyle: NYFW Day1 - White Knit Sweater + Black Leather Skirt

With just one show scheduled off site, the Yuna Yang Fall 2015 collection, my first day of Fashion Week was a breeze. I decided to go with a look that was simple and effortless. It was a very chilly evening in NYC and I wanted to feel cozy and comfortable. For what was to be a light and relaxed night, a classic black and white monochromatic look was a no brainer.

One of my favorite items right now is my pencil leather skirt from my clothing line LAPOSHE. You'll see I wore a few pieces from my collection throughout the week and will have them up on the shop for pre-orders soon.

I paired the skirt with a sleeveless turtleneck sweater vest from Forever21 and a sleek, fitted heat-tech top from Uniqlo. Layered over that was my vintage fur coat, which keeps me so warm I would wear it everyday if I didn't consider that a fashion crime. Aldo ankle booties with gathered socks, and my trusted Gucci Soho Disco bag finished off this feminine yet edgy look. (click images to expand)

My photographer wasn't available this evening so these pics aren't my usual high quality, but I didn't want to not document the look for your guys, so I made due with what I had. Leave a comment below if you like this classic combo.

POSHEstyle: All Black & a POP of Celine

As we close 2014 with a newly launched website and blog, I want to project that sense of assurance and resilience we will take into 2015. An unwavering passion for creative expressions, a sincere commitment to making our clients and readers stylishly satisfied and the hope that dreams really do come true.

Black is such a powerful style statement ~ it's strong, powerful yet chic and sophisticated. When I see a woman strutting the streets of NYC in an all black outfit there is usually an aura of confidence and self-awareness exuding from her. Your first impression is that she means business, and she usually does!

Leather is another style element I utterly adore. It's versatility can complement different looks from edgy (most obvious), to elegant (most unassuming), making it a "must-have" stable for every wardrobe.

I've had this trusted leather biker pants from Topshop for a few years now, it's become a go-to piece that always works - day or night. I paired it with a loose sweater from H&M, to balance the fitted look of the pants. A cropped leather jacket from Bebe and lazor cut booties from Schutz, made the overall look ultra-cool. Mirrored aviators and my Celine Trapeze added a pop of color and fun. The "Midnight" gemstone necklace (coming to the webstore) gave a hint of glitz and finishing details including, chain adorned gloves from H&M, a Chanel J12 watch and a vintage faux fur coat rounded out this rockstar look. POSHEstyle: Oversized Sweater and Thigh High Boots

About 8 years ago I developed an obsession with thigh high boots. I wanted a black leather or suede pair and was on the hunt for one that would fit my college budget.
