POSHEstyle: The Originals - Converse All Stars + Adidas

I never thought I would see the days that I wear sneakers and flats on a regular basis - but boy are my feet happy! The "Sports Luxe" trend has made athletic wear chic and stylish - perfect for summer's everyday look.

With my new found love of being closer to the ground, I invest in pieces that can transition after a trend is long passed. As a magazine Fashion Editor, I work hard to keep up with the current edge of fashion, but I never get consumed with being trendy. True style is about self expression, not wearing what's popular - so make a trend relevant and fitting to you!

Converse "All Stars" are like the cool kids in school we all want to be friends with, or the sorority we want to be a part of. If you don't own a pair, it's a great investment that adds a laid back, effortless look to your wardrobe.

Adidas is a classic with a long heritage and strong positioning. It has stand the test of time to remain a core brand in almost ever wardrobe. This t-shirt is a contemporary spin on the original, with a very fashion forward python pattern and mixed animal print design. Tres Chic!

I complemented the sporty look with some edgy accessories of mixed metallic midi rings from H&M, my Cartier ring,  a gun mental bracelet and my Chanel J12 watch. The perfect Mansur Gavriel bucket bag finished the outfit.

POSHEstyle: Fit & Flare

You know that silhouette or color you always go for? Well, I'm guilty too! As I showed my friend a shopping haul earlier last week she said to me, "you always go for that style" - that style being the fit and flare, and she was dead on!

I love the feminine, sophisticated feel of this cut. I am truly at my most comfortable wearing it, and that in turn makes me feel confident - and we all know there is nothing sexier than confidence!

I'm just not a body-con kinda girl - every time I wear one I am pulling and tugging at the hems. The body-hugging silhouette makes me feel over-exposed and uneasy; though I look at other women and think they look amazing. But, it's important to find what works for you, what makes you feel beautiful, confident and at your best. Whenever I work with a client, I try to get to know their personality first, before even making a suggestion of figure-flattering fits, or skin tone color complements. It is when we dress for our personalities and body types, that we express our optimal personal style.

This jacquard dress was an affordable find from H&M. The fabric is sturdy and good quality, the fit perfect, and the neutral color works year-round. My favorite part was the pockets and with that I was sold!

I kept the accessories clean and elegant with a pair of Christian Louboutin pigalle pumps, Chanel J12 watch, Chanel classic flap bag and Chanel sunglasses. For a touch of drama, I added a statement necklace with emerald-esque crystals, leather and chain details.

This is one of my favorite blogged looks to date because it reflects who I am from the inside out, and with that my night ended with this endearing compliment -  "you were sexy tonight without trying" - aim accomplished ;)

POSHEstyle: Red, Blue & White - Happy 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day to my American friends and family. Let's get this party started!!

I welcome any reason to celebrate and share positivity, and there is nothing more dynamic and exhilarating than a fireworks show. I wasn't born an American but it's been a second home and love for the majority of my life. It's partly responsible for my passion for fashion and creative expression. Living in NYC inspires me, pushes me, and molds me everyday. We are all products of our experiences, and I'm happy to have the US be a apart of my journey of self-discovery and development.

I know many of us refrain from the cliche color code of national holidays and celebrations, but the trick is knowing how to coordinate an outfit that's wearable without looking like a billboard for patriotism. Think waving the flag versus wearing it!

I found this chambray overall on the sale rack at H&M for $20 last week (score), and given my obsession with jumpsuits I had to have it. It's perfect for the summer - light, cool and easy to wear - and a great alternative to denim because it's more flexible. It's also blue, so fitting for a 4th of July inspired look.

I have been coveting a Mansur Gavriel bag for over a year and last week that dream came through. My lovely friend and FIT alum, recently started working with the company and was sweet enough to hook a girl up...thanks Ali!

If you don't know by now, these gorgeous, utilitarian, Italian made bags are on the "must-have" list of every fashionista and style influencer. They are constantly sold out and have garnered Birkin-esque waiting lists, so getting your hands on one is major. Suffice to say, I was very happy to snatch this red bucket bag and just in time for the holiday weekend.

Now for the white! Wedges are a summer stable and this season is no different. I've had these Charlotte Russe espadrille style wedges for a few years and I hope they give me a few more. They are super high but super comfy - a rare combo and heaven sent for a woman who loves heels as much as I do.

This is a very relaxed outfit that's perfect for a barbecue or a casual day out, but can easily transition to a rooftop fireworks viewing party. I kept the accessories minimal with a pair of RayBan wayfarer, a Bulova watch and a few rings.

So, there you have - my red, blue and white - 4th of July inspired outfit. It's chic, effortless, wearable and still says "Happy Birthday America!"  (click images to enlarge)

POSHEstyle: We Are All Cool Kids - 1950s Style!

There's a retro evolution this season that has made vintage-inspired styles mainstream contemporary. From the 1950s sophisticated glam to the 1970s free-spirited expressions, old is the ultimate new!

I've always been fascinated by old hollywood's classic movies and tales of glitz, glamour and high-fashion. The days when women and men always put their best foot forward; making sure they made a good impression and commanded any room they entered. It's this underling attitude that I encourage my clients to adapt - having pride in their personal presentation and communication to the world. Times and styles may have changed, but the essence of being the best version of yourself should always remain!

I saw this retro-inspired, scooped neck t-shirt by Le Motto on Instagram a few weeks ago. I immediately decided to scoop one up for myself and was so excited to receive it. I love and support the movement it stands for, "Because Your Words Have Power. Wear and Share Good Words." I bought the "We Are All Cool Kids" shirt because it's along the same inclusive philosophy I govern my life and work by, but there are definitely a few more on my "POSHE List" to get.

With a 1950s inspiration, I paired the scooped neck t-shirt with a full midi skirt by H&M, keeping the look monochromatic in black and white with accents of gold. The skirt is fun, feminine and gives the casual t-shirt a sophisticated, retro punch.

This gorgeous purse is very special to me, as it belonged to my aunt who passed last year. That's what I adore about vintage pieces, there's a history, a life, a piece of soul connected to each piece. I think she would approve of how I'm wearing it and that's a pleasant thought to have.

I kept the other accessories very minimal as well; my Bulova watch, a gold ring, vintage belt and Versace sunglasses. The look was finished off with a pair of classic Christian Louboutin pumps for an effortless feel.

I styled the white t-shirt with all black not just because it's chic, but because I wanted the main focus for this outfit to be its message. I strongly believe words are powerful and we should all make more effort to express them in a positive and uplifting way to ourselves and to others. POSHEstyle: I'm 99.9% Sure I'm A Disney Princess

How many of us grew up on the fantasies of being a Disney princess? From the fashion, to the handsome prince/shining savior, to the happy ending - these dreams stay with us from that very moment, no matter the realities of life.  But frankly, I say - keep dreaming, keep wishing and keep believing - because though it may not be a disney replay, we can all have our own magical stories.

This post itself has a cute and warm storyline. A few months ago, I posted a picture of a mug on Instagram with this exact phrase, and captioned it "So Are You!!" - because I believe we genuinely all are. There is beauty and magic to be found in all of us and that's why the underlining manifesto of my brand and blog is "One Love. One Heart. Different Style". My best-friend, upon a trip to London, saw this Disney t-shirt, with the same phrase, and remembered my post. It was such a sweet surprise and a gift I truly cherish - she's awesome!

Some may think this message overbearing or conceited, but on the contrary I find it empowering and liberating. Why shouldn't we regard ourselves just as special as these characters we've been taught to idolize? You're a princess and don't let anyone tell you or treat you differently ;)

When I first thought of putting this look together, my immediate style reference was to do sweet and pretty - a cute tulle skirt, a sleek pencil skirt or a flowing maxi - but then I thought, why go with the ideological notion of a princess. So instead, I went a little more modern and a little more rock and roll.

These American Eagle ripped jeans are not only cool and edgy, but they are also on-trend this season. I've even done a few DIY projects on a couple old pairs, so you too can easily grab some scissors and shop your own closet to get this look. I tied a contrasting wash denim shirt by Mossimo around my waist for a bit more casual depth and interest

Pairing edgy and classic accessories together resulted in a cool balance - a timeless Chanel J12 watch and Tiffany & Co bracelet, layered with an edgy braided bracelet; a couple metal midi rings, with a Cartier and diamond rings; and a Chanel Classic handbag and Louboutin Pigalle pumps added just the right amount of glam to keep the tone princess worthy.
