POSHEstyle: Herringbone & Chandrah Beads

It's the first week of 2016 and I'm starting the year off with a "go BIG or go HOME" attitude, and this outfit is the definition of a woman who is strong, confident, determined and ready to "get sh*t done!"

Winter has officially made its appearance. January is off to a chilly start so layers on top of layers are a must. My cold season strategy is to not bulk up, but rather layer smart. I don't own a down or poofy jacket - I invest in warm fabrications like wool and cashmere. This J. Crew jacket is one such piece. Its structured clean lines are minimal and modern, the long length provides extra coverage, and the deep pockets keep blisters away.

Herringbone is just one of those patterns that has a classic presence, it may be silent at times or trending at others - a big trend for 2015 - but never out of style. I bought this Zara turtle neck jacket on Black Friday, so it was a score.  I love when I find a piece and get super excited about all its styling possibilities and this jacket certainly gave me the jitters.

I kept the outfit in a monotone grey on grey - my most worn shade this fall. Layering a turtleneck from Zara under the jacket for added protection around my neck, and pairing denim from Forever21.

One of my "resolution" for 2016 is to do more yoga and mediation. Living in a fast pace city like New York, it's rare that you slow down and balance yourself - it also doesn't help that I'm a gemini whose mind is always going, and who wants to do a million things at once. I received this Chandrah bracelet during the Christmas, and it's the perfect reminder that I need to make more effort to train my mind to be calmer, and more focus, so I can reach my optimal potential.

I finished the look with my Ferragamo aviators, Chanel J12 watch, Tiffany & Co ID bracelet and these killer thigh high boots by Monika Chiang that screams "I mean business!"

POSHEstyle: Plaid, Fringe & Suede

I started this blog November 2014 but 2015 was the year of its blossoming. It's a wonderful feeling seeing a dream developing with promise of a positive future. This is my last post for the year and looking back I feel so grateful and proud of where POSHESTYLE is today.

I have always said 5 is my favorite number and 2015 was good to me - I'm more confident in the woman I am and still becoming, had amazing experiences, traveled to new places, formed new relationships, became more humble, appreciated the smaller things even more, and found deeper, truer meaning in the value of life. Life is a journey, not just a destination.....and I'm ready for 2016...so lets ride!

I'm closing the year in a little plaid and a touch of fringe. It just so happens, I'm also in the festive color of the season and another favorite of mine - RED - another little fact about me.

The shirt has a subtle mixed plaid contrast that's very chic. I paired it with a suede skirt with fringe details that's trendy and fun to wear. The wrap style adds a classic touch to the mix.

I have a tendency to wear each bag for a moment of time before switching to another, even though I have a fair selection. The bag of the month has been this red bucket style from Mansur Gavriel. I was hesitant to buy the large size but boy has it come in handle - even my laptop fits.

The final touches to this finale post included one of my favorite jewelry brand - Sara Designs  - the watches are the superstars of the line and another thing to know about me - I am obsessed with watches! This wrap watch is creative, unique and a cool way to rock statement jewelry. Just keep everything else minimal and make that the focal accessory.

BCBG booties, Rayban wayfarers, a color block fedora and a bight smile filled with gratitude for 2015 and opened arms to 2016 completed this look :))))

Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR loves!!!!!!!!

POSHEpicks: New Year's Eve Style

If you're a last minute, spontaneous personality like myself - you're just thinking about NYE plans and what to wear. I'm on the hunt for a statement piece to ring in 2016 and these are some worthy options. Fingers cross I get it in time, but if nothing else, these are some great inspirations...

1. Charlotte Russe - A little (or a lot) of sequin goes a long way on this night. It's all about the ultra glam and glitz with this rose gold skater dress.

2. Mustard Seed - The perfect balance of structure and femininity, this peplum style accentuates the curves (or creates them) and the sheer lace adds a little peek-a-boo to the festive mix.

3. ASOS - Love the colorblock and soft tone of this embellished midi dress. The deep neckline gives a touch of sexy to an elegant silhouette.

4. Toby Heart Ginger - The color for the season a wine red/burgundy is a fresh take on the ultimate power color "red'. This slip dress with a slit is the definition of sultry sophistication. This one is guaranteed to turn heads!

5. Storee - Everything old is new again and this gold retro shift dress is fit for a dancing goddess to ring in 2016.

6. Rachel Palley - "All-nude" is the new era of understated elegance. The muted, soft tones has a reserved confidence that is impactful without being bold. Trust me - you won't go unseen in this number even if it blends with your skintone.

7. Rachel Roy - This cut is so flattering to almost any body type there is little effort and energy needed to pull it off. The asymmetric zipper and ruched side add a modern twist with a hint of sexy.

8. MSK - Ringing in the New Year in a more formal setting? This greek goddess inspired maxi with pleats and metallic foil print is guaranteed to make a fancy statement.

Have a Happy New Year Dolls & Gents!!!!!

POSHEstyle: Nude on Nude

The all-nude look is the definition of understated elegance - the soft palette and bare illusion create the perfect complement of sexy sophistication.

Bare legs in December in NYC is practically outrageous, but this taupe and black sweater dress happened on a "warm" Winter day. With this unbelievable weather, we're either having an extended Fall or an early Spring but whatever it be - I'm not complaining!

The bodycon fit is a rarity in my personal style but when I do it's usually tea or pencil length, has upper body coverage or made with thick quality fabric - all features that enhance the elegance of a body hugging cut. This dress accentuates all the curves, in all the right places, without being too revealing.

Keeping the nude theme, I wore a pair of Christian Louboutin pigalle,  and my newest handbag addition - the  Louis Vuitton Capucines I got this past Summer in Paris. It's my first Louis Vuitton piece and I'm in love. I'm not a hugely fond of monogrammed prints but the clean, solid style of this LV bag had me at "hello"

What do think of my nude behavior? It's crazy to think this is one of my last post for 2015...this past year has been a delight sharing my personal style and fashion experience with you. I'm super excited for what's to come as we take POSHESTYLE into 2016 and feel truly blessed and grateful to have you along for the ride :)

POSHEstyle: Patchwork Denim + Knits

It isn't exactly the season for denim but with the "warm" winter weather NYC has been having a light denim jacket with some layered knits isn't far-fetched.

The inspiration of this outfit started with this patchwork denim A-line mini I bought at Zara. Its 70's inspired cut is very on trend for the Fall/Winter boho-chic crave. I played on the patchwork theme throughout the rest of the outfit by I keeping the tone monochromatic with shades of blue in different textures, which essentially created different "patches."

Anything "boyfriend" or oversized I am obsessed with - I always go a size up in jackets/coats/ sweaters/shirts and was happy to find this Achro Brand denim jacket that gives a very relaxed, comfy fit.

I created some contrast by layering a pinstripe boyfriend shirt from Joe Fresh - awesome place for great basics btw - under a knit turtleneck from H&M. The cutout detail of the sweater vest adds an element of surprise that is very chic and stylish.

I accessorized the look with a pair of low block heeled booties by Franco Sarto and my Mansur Gavriel bucket bag - which I've been wearing daily all December - it fits everything!
