POSHEstyle: Ripped Jeans + Metallics

Every time my mom sees me wearing these jeans she asks "why do you look like you were attacked by a wild animal" or "like you are homeless and can't afford a good pair of jeans" - she kinda has a valid point..LOL! But, I love a good cool, distressed, rebellious look every now and again.

I swear by how comfy these Zara boyfriend jeans are - they are my go-to #airportstyle when traveling and are so airy and cool for the summer. I wear them with kicks, heels, sandals - dressed up and dressed down.

This top is from one of my all time favorite designers - Daniel Silverstain - his style is so NYC - cool, chic and collected! The leather is light and the mesh details breathable, making it wearable in warmer times, but a perfect laying piece for cooler temperatures. The bag is from Katie Lares - she uses unconventional household hardware as accessories - like the handle on this petite beauty. The ring is from the Solomeina collection and makes a statement all on its own - no other jewelry necessary! All these amazing designs are available at Flying Solo NYC - a collective in Soho (434 West Broadway) owned and operated by the designers - that's pretty amazing!

I literally live in these Kensie shoes, and I am seriously on the hunt to find the exact pair - because I regret not buying a backup. They are neutral, stylish, comfortable - every standard passed for shoe perfection. If you see them anywhere - GRAB THEM!!!!!

I couldn't finish this post without talking about this mural wall I found in Soho - a little boy on a small bicycle challenging the older, aggressive, mean-looking competition on their motorcycles - making his own luck! It wasn't until after seeing the images, that I realized how dynamic and inspirational the message was - and how coincidentally perfect the wall was for this look - rough, rugged jeans and an armor inspired stop - the law of attraction! In life, you can't sit back and be fearful - waiting for things to go your way - you have to be ready for the challenges, ready to fight for what you want, ready to prove your magic - ready to "Let It Rip!!"

POSHEstyle: Pretty in Pink - DateNight Yes or No?

Ok guys, so I have a lot of catching up to do - I have been so MIA this year with my blog posts because life has just been craaazy!!! But, I'm back with a vengeance of backed up posts and some killer new content to make it up to you ;)

So, my colleague wore a flowy, shift dress to work yesterday. She looked so elegant and feminine, I asked if she "had a date later." She replied by saying "in this, no - I would be in a more fitted dress." This spiked the conversation as to what to wear on a date. I generally go for a fit and flare style, or highlight my legs or my shoulders - I feel flirty and feminine. Her "go-to" look is a form-fitted dress or a pencil skirt and top - she feels sexy, yet sophisticated. So the question is, which is more appealing for the man? Hmmm....

A week ago, I met up with my ex-boyfriend for a friendly dinner after work. I wore this pretty pink floral dress from H&M. They say you should always be on "10" when an ex sees you, but I was feeling so casual and relaxed, I didn't put much thought into it. It wasn't until 5 mins before meeting up with him I thought, "I probably shouldn't have worn this frumpy, practically fully covered, no shape defining dress." However, to my surprise, he gave me more compliments on my outfit that evening than he ever had. Needless to say, my "grandma-esque" dress was a hit!

That just goes to show, that as women, we shouldn't put such stress on what we think a man will or will not like - just be ourselves, be confident and if he is worth it, he'll appreciate it! There is no hard rule on what to wear for a date-night, but make sure you present "you" in a way that makes you feel at your optimal from the inside-out - whether it be "the girl next door", "the sexy vixen", "the fairy princess", "the tomboy" - own it and rock it!!

To pull this sweet summer look together, I paired Vanessa Wu color-block heels with this dress. They are so comfy and versatile for day to night plans, and also comes in a striking maroon and black combo. For daytime, I suggest carrying a nice lady bag and for evening a pretty clutch like this one from Kalamarie Handbags. They are both available at our designer collective - Flying Solo - located at 434 West Broadway in Soho. Yes we moved...to a gorgeous new space...previously occupied by Roberto Cavalli - how fab!!!

What is your "go-to" look for a date night? Comment below and tell us what you have experienced makes the best impression for you. I would love to share some of your "date tales" with my followers on instastories. That should be fun :)

POSHEstyle: Combat Boots + Smiley Face

It ain't easy being a woman in today's world....especially if you're a strong-willed, resilient and independent one. That's why I approach everyday, every challenge, every roadblock the same way - with a fiercely positive attitude and a determination to overcome and succeed!

That's exactly what this outfit stands for - these combat boots by Aldo are a few seasons back but classic enough to not fade to the trends, and perfect for a #BossBabe on a mission. I've always been big on adding socks to funk up an outfit and these uber-cool "Snoop Dogg" Happy Socks did just that - not to mention - my obsession with their bid to Reggae as a proud Jamaican - Brap, Brap!!

Ok, so mixing hard and soft elements together is probably my all-time favorite look to style. I love the juxtaposition of merging masculine and feminine touches, and that's where a fun, flirty dress came in ;) This olive green H&M dress is so light and airy - it literally glides with your body, and I always feel so feminine whenever I wear it.

And now, lets talk about this mood booster of a bag - it's sure to brighten anyone's day! I found it at a little boutique and it's brand-less, but there are so many cool graphic accessories trending now - I'm sure an alternative wont be that hard to find.

The final accessories are most definitely the coolest part of this entire look. These one-of-a-kind rings by IZA are beyond rock & roll. You have to check out the designer concept store, Flying Solo, at 224 Mulberry Street in Soho to find them - beware though - you wont be able to choose easily from all the amazing jewelry at this store.

As women, we have the pressure of finding a balance between being thick-skinned, strong, assertive, and still being demure, elegant, soft - otherwise we're either taken advantage of, or labeled as too difficult. This outfit is for every fierce, fun, fearless female - who lives her life in "combat boots with a smiley face" - and every man who respects and loves her for being the #hero she is!

Happy International Women's Day - EVERYDAY!!!!!!!!! ( Just in case you forgot to keep celebrating)

POSHEstyle: OMGosh Gift Guide For The Family

OMGosh Guys!!!! It's just a few days to Christmas and this one is for all my last minute shoppers - because, frankly I'm one of them, and I need this list just as much as you do to keep my sanity this week :/

I have a big family filled with different personalities and interests - so shopping gets very interesting and hectic, but I wouldn't change the crazy.

The Decorator

My mom's true passion lies in her home. She enjoys home design, diy projects, holiday decor, family dinner parties - any and everything that involves decor brings her joy - and nothing makes me happier than seeing how excited she gets about making, and sharing a beautiful home :)

The Fitness Focused

My sister's commitment to her health motivates me. She is an Architect, who through her discipline has turned her passion for fitness into not just a lifestyle, but a business as well. Her favorite fashion piece is a great sports find, and she is more than happy to expand her collection.

The New Career-Mom

There's a new baby coming for January 2017 for one of the most dedicated women I know. After working hard to complete med school, my sister is now preparing to be a mom, and I know she is going to be amazing at both!

The Modest Fashionista

This single-mom, lawyer-in-the-making is not just smart - but has a very sophisticated sense of style. Her modest values does not hinder her from expressing her uniquely sense of fashion in a way that is inspiring, even to me!

The Tech Obsessed

Boys love their toys and my brother sure does love his. But, being tech savvy is no longer just about owning the latest gadget - it's a lifestyle and these pick say "cool kid" without even trying ;)

This list continues....but I hope you find it inspiring, or even directly helpful in doing last minute shopping that is still thoughtful and fitting for the different persons in your life.

POSHEstyle: Gift Guide - LWD + Veronika Choker

The easiest way to dress up an outfit is with your accessories, and the best thing about the holidays is having the perfect excuse to go all out with your bling. This is the season for giving and getting some glitz and glam goodies, and I'm all for it!

Chokers made the biggest comeback this year and are still going strong. This pearl and chain beauty by Veronika is the perfect balance of edgy and sophisticated. It's a rare and unique design compared to your usual choker, so is sure to make a girl very happy this Christmas ;)

Now on to the touchy subject - white after Labor Day?! Umm...at which point is this still even relevant?? Ok, for all who are still stuck on this "style rule" - it no longer exists! Now, that we have that clear - lol - how adorable is this dress, I feel like a snowflake on an early Christmas morning.

I kept the snow bunny look monochromatic with a white sachet by Luana Italy (btw, they are opening their Soho store), white Christian Louboutin pumps, and a cool pair of sunnies from Grey Ant

The final details were kept simple and elegant - this gorgeous bracelet from Perola is another hard meets soft beauty perfect for a special someone, and my classic Rolex watch. I'm feeling like a walking snowflake ready for a chic Christmas soiree :)
